The Butchart Gardens

In June my wife and I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. We made sure to arrive early in hopes of having the gardens to ourselves for at least a few moments. Our early wakeup was well-rewarded with 20 wonderful minutes alone with the Sunken Garden. When the crowds began to arrive, we decided to move on to the Rose Gardens, which were full of blossoming roses against a beautiful delphinium background. After that we continued on to the Japanese Gardens and then walked to the Ross Fountain to give our feet a well-deserved rest. After our break, we walked around for a couple of hours before going north to Nanaimo. Please click on an image below to enlarge it.
